Building an automated calculation tool for the impact of PixMob’s LED Wristband Recycling Programme
Project Overview:
PixMob specialises in creating immersive lighting experiences for a range of events, from live music to sports games. Their LED wristbands use advanced Infrared and Radio Frequency technology, whilst also embedding principles of sustainability and circularity into their design. Made from recycled plastics, PixMob’s wristbands are supported by a Recycling Program that enables collection, refurbishment and reuse after each event, helping to reduce their environmental impact.
PixMob, best known for their reusable light up wristbands on the Coldplay Music of the Spheres World tour, make wearable tech to enhance audience experiences.
The Challenge
With growing demand for sustainability metrics and a need to demonstrate the success of the Recycling Program, PixMob needed a simple, effective way to quantify the environmental impact of the program following each event.
Our Approach
We developed a bespoke Excel calculator tool that quantifies the impact of PixMob’s LED Wristband Recycling Program.

- A calculator that easily automates calculations to quantify the Recycling Program impact and headline figures from specific projects
- Hands-on training on tool use for the team
This enables Pixmob to:
- Quickly measure sustainability outcomes from events they partner with.
- Gather outcomes with ease using readily available project-specific data.
- Present headline impact figures to clients to showcase sustainability efforts through the recycling program.

- User-friendly Calculator Tool Interface: We built a clear, guided interface for inputting readily available project data.
- Automated Calculations: The tool transforms input data into impact metrics, including carbon savings and waste avoided.
- Interactive Dashboard: Output metrics are summarised in a visual dashboard to highlight results at a glance.
- Hands-on Training: We delivered a user-guide with clear instructions on how to input data and use the tool, as well as hands-on training to ensure a smooth handover of the tool.
The Outcome:
The result is a bespoke tool tailored for PixMob’s internal ownership and use. It allows the PixMob team to input readily available project-specific data and automatically generate sustainability impact metrics for their clients. These metrics can be shared with the event organisers to show the value of PixMob’s Recycling Program offering whilst supporting sustainability storytelling.
